CAMDEN – NJ Aid for Animals (NJAFA), an all volunteer animal charity, through their Pet Enrichment Program (PEP), is offering a free distemper/Parvo vaccine, flea treatment and bag of food for Camden City residents’ dogs and cats at Cramer Hill Community Center, 1035 Reeves Ave, Camden City, NJ Wednesday on July 29 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. No appointments required.

In addition to transporting owned dogs and cats to get spayed and neutered to help stem the tide of over-reproduction, NJAFA has also been providing ancillary supplies for dogs and cats through PEP for the last five years.

NJAFA’s PEP enriches the lives of dogs and cats after they get spayed or neutered. For example, pain medication – the low cost clinics do offer pain medication but the residents of Camden have to pay extra for it. Without the funds to pay for even a spay or neuter most residents do not have extra funds for pain meds. NJAFA’s PEP pays for the pain meds, a flea treatment, a dog house, a bag of food or any extra component that will enhance the life of an animal after they are spayed or neutered. PEP also provides for much needed shots that will prevent PARVO, a very contagious sometimes fatal disease that dogs contract and can cost up to hundreds of dollars to treat.

To help offset expenses for this event, another animal loving group of models dedicated to enriching the lives of pitbulls is donating a portion of the funding. Deirdre Franklin, aka Little Darling and President and Founder of Pinups for Pitbulls, says “Pitbulls are our love and passion. We are happy to donate funds to help prevent them from contracting a disease that can be prevented from a single vaccination like the one they can receive free of charge on July 29.”

NJAFA’s guest, Camden City’s own Brimm Chow Hounds, will distribute pet food, Atlantic Co. SPCA will provide their mobile surgery van and Camden City Animal Control will be available to answer questions about opportunities for free spay and neuter, humane education, tips on proper shelter and owning a pet.

For information about this project, to volunteer or to donate to NJ Aid for Animals Pet Enrichment Program for Camden, contact Ms. McGuire at (856) 498-3978 or visit www.njafa.org

LONG VALLEY NJ – Garden State Woman magazine has selected Aldonna R. Ambler, CMC, CSP as its “Entrepreneur of the Year” for 2008. One of 50 women nominated, Ambler was selected “in recognition for her many accomplishments, [her] impact on the lives of others, and for serving as a role model for younger New Jersey women,“ said Judy Chapman, the Founder and Editor of Garden State Woman magazine. The award luncheon will be held at the Park Avenue Club in Florham Park, New Jersey from 11:00 am – 2:30 pm on January 23, 2009.

With over 30 years of experience, Ambler has earned the right to be called The Growth Strategist™. The resilience and growth of her multiple international businesses has been recognized by over two dozen national, regional, and state level “entrepreneur of the year” awards. Ambler was named NATIONAL Woman Business Owner of the Year for 2000 and her graduate school at The University of Pennsylvania named her an Alumnus of the Year for “innovative approaches to help executives in today’s corporations.” More importantly, her clients get on…and then stay on…published lists of the fastest growing privately held corporations.

The President of AMBLER Growth Strategy Consultants, Inc., Ambler is entering her 5th year as the host of the weekly peer-to-peer-to-peer Internet radio show, The Growth Strategist™, which attracts over 180,000 listeners. The show features lively interviews with Presidents/CEOs of mid sized businesses ($20 -200 Mil/yr) sharing practical tips about the growth strategy-of-the-week. A certified professional speaker (CSP), Ambler keynotes 40-50 major business conferences each year. Her most popular speech is “WHAT DO THE TOP 2% FASTEST GROWING COMPANIES DO THAT THE REST OF US NEED TO LEARN…NOW.” Active in economic development initiatives for many years, Ambler chaired the NJ delegation for the most recent White House Conference on Small Business, has provided expert testimony at over 30 national and state legislative hearings, and has conferred with four US Presidents in the Oval Office. She was the 5th statewide President of the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners (NJAWBO) and served for several years on the board and then executive committee of the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce.

“If GSW’s awards recognize industry leadership, community service, entrepreneurial success, resilience, and mentoring, then GSW really should include Aldonna Ambler in the list of winners,” said Joan Verplanck, President of the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce in her nomination letter.
