As a Forensic Tax Accountant, Jo-Ann’s practice consists of tax controversy resolution, assisting in divorce cases, and criminal work. Jo-Ann is licensed by the federal government as an Enrolled Agent. She is a member of the National and New Jersey Societies of Enrolled Agents and thus is one of “America’s Tax Experts”. She is also a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. She has recently achieved the distinction of “Fellow” by the National Tax Practitioner’s Institute of NAEA.

As a Director and Board Member for the New Jersey Society of Enrolled Agents, she teaches technical tax topics to South Jersey accountants. In that capacity she taught a course on Indirect Methods of Proving Income and another course on Self-Rentals. Recently Jo-Ann was invited to teach Form 1099-MISC by Lorman Seminars. She serves as a guest lecturer at Atlantic Community College.

Jo-Ann received NAACP’s Frances Hooks Award in 2014 for “showing courage in promoting diversity and building bridges across cultures.” Jo-Ann volunteers her time as a member of the Executive Leadership Team for the American Heart Association.

Do you have a business tip or tool that has helped you in your business to share?

Be organized, try to touch emails only once. PAY YOUR ESTIMATED TAXES AND PAY THEM ON TIME.  ALSO INSURE YOUR 941’S ARE FILED AND PAID!  EVEN IF NOT FILING A RETURN, MUST PAY THE BALANCE DUE.  ITS AN EXTENSION TO FILE NOT AN EXTENSION TO PAY.

I always try to answer the question “what have you done with what you have been given?” I strive for that daily.

I like to “stay in my lane” that means do what you know.
